January

I certainly seem to want what I can't have at the moment... I paint January in June and April in January. My general attitude in life spills over into paintings :-)

Even though I love winter, it still evokes strange and somewhat depressing images in my mind. January for me is a lonely Soul, looking into windows of somebody else's house filled with happiness and love. I think January might be a collective image of all those who want to be happy but happen to be continuously deprived of any chance of it - be it by choice or circumstance.
